Preloading Suspension
I have a few questions concerning preloading. I'm going to install my Skunk2 springs on my MY07 tomorrow. To the best of my understanding, while the car is on the jackstands, I'm to raise the suspension and tighten all the parts I have taken off. Is this correct or is there just certain parts that need to be tightened. Do I raise both sides of the car at the same time in order to preload correctly or does raising one side of the suspension at a time suffice?

I believe that you raise the suspension on the side that you want to tighten until the car leaves the jackstand ever so slightly. Then, everything get tightened. At least that's how the service manual instructed me to do in my integra. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

OP, you may have to loosen and re-tighten some other bolts that you did not take off also.
All of the RLCA bolts need to be clocked, even the ones that may not have been taken off. The reason for this is that the bushings are clocked at the factory for factory ride height. You need to re-clock them for lowered ride height.
The RLCA camber adjuster bolt will be automatically clocked when you go in for an alignment. Clock it for now anyway (mark the camber eccentrics so you put them back where they originally were).
I dont remember but the RUCA may have some bolts that need to be clocked as well.
Basically, think of anything that has to twist. Then clock it for your current ride height.

Not doing the "bushing reclocking" could be the reason why some ppl eat through bushing a few months after getting the car lowered.... I've even heard of people even getting a ride height lift after installing OEM replacement suspension parts.

all he is talking about is the rear upper control arm. the lower arm will be loosened/tightened once you get it aligned. assumed you are getting it aligned right away.
