Default Power Steering Failure Due to Larger and Wider Rims?

I recently started having limited power steering and sometimes completely no power steering (This car is heavy) and went back to the dealer. They said it was because my 17 inch rims put to much stress on the P/S motor. Has anyone else had this problem?
2001 model
17 in. Volk TE37s 215/50/17 in front 235/45/17 in back

P.S. I am pretty sure a lot of S owners have much larger rims than that.

I have 17" rims and no issues at all. As you would get a 2nd opinion for a doctor, visit another Honda dealer.

Hope it works out for you.

I have 18" rims with no problems. Get the power steering motor replaced. They certainly designed it to be compatible with aftermarket rims. It's just defective.

I had this same type of problem after some major engine work. As it turns out I need to have my EPs tourqe sensor netual position reset. I still have stock rim and it just felt heavy all the time. once this reset was done, everything worked just fine.

Find another dealer and have them look at it. Becasue if what your dealer said was true, we whould have has a thread about it long ago, and it would be llllooooonnnnggggggggggg.
