Power Steering Acting Funny *need some help*
Ok so Ive noticed this problem for about 2 weeks now, at first it was very random, and now i cant do 50+ in the slight rain or 65+ on a dry day.
So here's the problem. Start the car, no EPS light. Steering wheel is straight if u turn it 1/4 turn left or right the steering wheel feels like its skipping a gear in the rack but its not. If you look at the wheel when it happens the wheel twitches. I'm trying to explain this the best way possible for some help.
Any Ideas? help a brother out. or anyone else have this problem?

Did you check your tires to see if they are badly worn? Last alignment was how long? Saying you can't do 65+ in the dry in pretty serious. take it to a shop before we all give you the wrong advice.

^^^ just got and alignment Saturday, tires are 30% all around. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow, just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

By twitchy you mean the assist is cutting off suddenly and then on? like to say the wheel gets tight and then loose again? If that's the case, could be the beggining of an alternator failure, as it happened to me before I had the classic flickering dash and such. Check the battery and starting systems first.

I have the same problem but haven't been able to diagnose it. The wheel shakes very quickly back and forth about 1/8". It's almost vibrateing. It's either the torque sensor or the rack. Mine never happens moving, just sitting still. I find it happens in one spot the most which leads me toward the TS.

I have the same problem. I dont know about driving 65mph or not but mine only does it on start up. If i turn the wheel slowly it rarely does it. If i turn the wheel real fast it slips and vibrates tremendously. I think it has something to do with the EPS system. I have a 2000 model. If anyone could help please do, its really annoying me.
