Need to wait for correct learn from EMS after a reset,
have you given enough time and done correctly ?

Yes, everything is bigger in Texas, except hills (in North Texas at least).
I unplugged the "Back Up" fuse for several minutes to reset the ECU, but it isn't obvious if the ECU was actually reset? I didn't notice any change in idle or performance. I've put a few hundred miles on it since.
It's been a pretty hot summer. Could I be experiencing "Heat Soak"? I've seen some posts about it, but not many specific details of the conditions that lead to it?

Conditions? Its hot. Engine is hot. Intake air is hot.
Cold air is dense. Power packed. More air, more fuel, more power. Crisp throttle response.
Hot air is the opposite of that.
