have you ever tried to read the writing that is on the back of their packaging. It is such broken english that the translation doesn't even make sense, how can you trust their product based on their own advertising ?.

so reviving a really old thread.

I did this on my prelude and found two things. 1, the car idled a little smoother.

2...i a radar detector that reads voltage as one of its constant displays. i went from 13.5-ish to 14.4ish on the read out consistantly.

so it obviously helped the chanrging system.

NOTE: i added fresh grounds and replaced all the stock ones with 8G wire

Did you even bother to read my original post? All of what you're claiming is easily attributed to a corroded contact point on the grounding system.

how are you gonna come off dick about a 10 year old thread? You should be happy someone even bothered to bring it back up after all this time instead of having your period.

Wow. There's only one DICK in this thread and guess what? It's not MacGyver.

You do realize that Mac is a well respected long term member of this community and that he is an Electrical Engineer and circuit designer and is known for his no bullshit insight didn't you? I didn't think so.

You cleaned up the crappy grounds on your old car and added some superfluous ones that Honda's Electrical Engineers deemed unnecessary or possibly even detrimental.

This is really simple. Aftermarket automotive grounding systems are nothing more than cosmetics and PIXIE DUST.

i dont believe that the only problem capable of happening on a wire are the contact points... shields do get damaged.. wires do get bent... there wouldnt be need for a DMM if all problems with wires were to originate from either power or ground.

You aren't going to get loss in the middle of a wire.

If you have problems in the middle of a ground wire, it's going to be an open - and that's not going to show itself through a bad idle.

The only reason to upgrade power/ground wires in a car is due to a larger amperage pull to power a high-power audio system. I have 1/0 from my alternator to battery and battery to chassis ground in both my truck and S - but then I'm running close to 1000W in the car and 2500+W in my truck.

My car (and definitely the truck) doesn't even idle any more smoothly than before.

Also, high dollar audio cables are bunk. It's been proven time and again.

Keep drinking that kool-aid though
