I would be surprised if a mechanic went to the trouble of trying out different thrust washers to perfect the contact pattern. The crush sleeve and rear pinion bearing would be VERY difficult to reuse if the thrust washer wasn't right on the 1st attempt. How many of these 2 items did your installer waste?

i finally got the 4.77 installed... what setting do you guys have on the yellow box running on 17"s...( tried to adjust at the mile markers and the police told me to leave or hes going to ticket me...) thanks...

4.77's give you a change of +16.34%. Then you can add in the stock speedo's natural error of between 1% and 2%. So, assuming your wheels and tires have not changed, then start with about 17.5% and you should be very close (within 1%).
