Possible spun bearing?
I have an oil pressure gauge (albeit a pretty cheap crap one) on my 07 (Kraftwerks SC).
I noticed today on my way home for lunch that the pressure was reading low at idle and at cruising speeds (normally 20/80).
Cruising was about 60psi and idle was about 15ish.
Got home and checked the oil. It was topped off perfectly and still super clean (I just did an oil change about 4 weeks ago).
Did some peaking/poking around and didn't see anything out of sorts. All fluids were topped up nicely, no leaking, no spots on the garage floor, etc, so Im pretty sure I didn't run low on oil.
No oil light flashing or anything to give any indication of a problem from the car itself.
Went back to work keeping light on the gas and watching the pressures. They were constant, but low (I don't trust this gauge much as of late, it's done lots of goofy things).
When I was driving into the parking garage where I normally park in the afternoons I could hear a rattling sound echoing.
Didn't have time to check closer so I went back to work.
When I left work, I started the car and the pressures seemed to come up mostly normal and it wasnt making any rattle, but as I was driving home and the car warmed up, they started dropping again.
Got home and parked in the garage and let the car idle but no rattle whatsoever.
Gave it some gas and could hear a rattle start at about 2k rpms but only once out of every three blips or so and it would *sometimes* continue for a second or two after letting off the throttle.
I haven't been able to take a video or isolate where it's coming from yet, I didn't have anyone to give it throttle for me while I was inspecting or under the car.
Im assuming the worst here based on the rattle and the drop in pressure.
It doesn't sound as bad as most of the videos I've seen since there is no noise at idle so maybe it's just starting to fail and it is still able to be saved without loads of work/$? I can dream.
I will be sourcing a better oil pressure testing unit tomorrow if I can to make sure part of it isnt just the gauge acting up and will leave the car sitting until then.
Any input based on my terrible description?

I would suggest driving the car as little as possibly needed. If the car does have a spun rod bearing your motor may be salvage-able. If you have a spun rod bearing hopefully your crank shaft is not damaged yet. The more you run the car the more possibility of permanently damaging your engine components
You're in a bit of a pickle but it would be nice to get a video of the sound. Unfortunately, running the car more could cause more damage...

What weight and brand of oil are you using?

I did not get a chance to take video. I'll Crack the filter open tonight if I get a chance.
I did a 10w30 with pennzoil platinum on this last oil change

I know you always use quality oil so I doubt that is the cause... but if your car has the early banjo bolts with FI that could be the cause. Early 2002 model had the two hole bolts but there is a debate on the VIN to check... before somewhere around 4000 - 5000 that year.

Chris, this is on the 07 AP2 so it shouldn't have the banjo bolt issue.
I have a mechanic friend (not an s2k specialist, but a great wrencher) who got an opening at his shop. I dragged it down there so he's going to check it out for me this afternoon or first thing in the morning.

He found evidence of bearing material in the oil filter but it's pretty fine. No large pieces or anything so there's a good chance it's only going to need the bearing.
Wont be able to get it on the hoist until Monday but at least it's better news than I feared. He couldn't get the engine to knock at all and he wanted to run it as little as possible.
The bearing is likely just broken loose and hasn't actually spun over itself.
Only evidence for him was the drop in oil pressure.
