Default Possible Power Loss

Getting setup for the next autox and occasional 1/4 mile, doing routine maintanence and checking everything I can.

Think I might have a slight powerloss and was going to do a compression test and such. Anything you guys commonly do to ensure everything is AOK before running the car hard? (Motor is stock)

Not terribly familiar with reading compression results... if I show a drop over all cyl its probably head gasket? if I show on one its probably valve?

Thanks!
Chris

Compression test came back between 215-225 across all 4, so I'm happy about that. No responses to my question yet...

Anything else you guys would recommend to insure proper working order of everything when getting ready for a hard track season?

If you've never had a valve job, you should look into doing one . The gaps will/do change on these cars.

Of course tires, diff trans brake clutch engine fluids, brake pads, air filter. alignment.

was actually looking at the valve job and debating it... any words of wisdom? is there a way to check before you get all the way into it and know if its a needed maintenance?

I don't have any abnormal ticking, motor sounds good. Ticking is one sign of this necesity right?

(thanks for response)
