Possible Oil/Vtec Solenoid issue ?
#11
yeah the oil levels are fine. and i had my trusted mechanic friend look at the car and it seems VTEC and the stalling issue are 2 completely different problems.
We found that the cable running to the VTEC solenoid was previously broken and some moron taped it together which would explain why my VTEC randomly doesnt work.
however the car wont stay running now when i come to a stop. at first it will be ok but after driving for a few minutes as soon as i get to a stop sign or red light the rpms drop right out and the car dies out. then it struggles to start. we are gonna run a bunch of tests tonight and hopefully have all this worked out by the end of the weekend.
any advice is appreciated.

Clean your IAC to investigate that stalling issue. I bet it's hard to re-start because of the way that it turns itself off.
The IAC cleaning is in the DIY sticky. I had a similar problem last year and cleaning my IAC solved the problem.
