Possible to hook Nitrous Arming switch to Radio Control MUTE BUTTON??
I came up with an idea the other day. Would it be possible to hook up the Nitrous Arming switch(on/off), to the radio control Mute button we have? I have an aftermarket radio and dont use it.
I figured when the green light of the mute button is on that would mean Nitrous was engaged. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yikes! That's a pretty important switch to be mislabeled as "mute".
I don't know how the nitrous switch works, but if it's a standard "connection open / closed" input, I think it'd be easier to connect to the switch itself rather than to the green LED part. An LED works off of a "voltage yes/no" input, not a "connection open/closed" input. Also, you need to isolate whatever you tie in to from the rest of the controls, since the volume + / - overrides the mute as well, I think.
Oh, and if the nitrous works off a voltage yes/no switch, it again probably won't work, since the LED runs off 4v, not standard automotive 12v.

I'm sure Seriousrex can explain his custom switch much better than I - It does look cool

The mute button actually outputs 12V behind the radio. When I was doing stereo's to do this I had to use a relay to flip it over to pulse ground to mute the radio. It would be very easy to hook up just get the right wire and string it back to hit 12V+ when the light is green.
