Default Possible clutch bleed problems

I recently bled the clutch on my car as per instructions on this website. However, it seems as though now my pedal has a lot of play up top. There's probably about 1.5 inches of play before the clutch starts to engage. There was play in the pedal before I did the bleed (that was part of the reason I did the bleed) but it did not go away after the bleed. Is this normal for this car. And no, there are no air bubbles in the line. Thanks.

Which would those be? This? .............................

If so, did you do this part? .............................
11. Top up the fluid in the reservoir. Put the cap back on and secure it properly. Go give the clutch pedal a few rapid pumps. Recheck fluid level.
Particularly the part about the rapid pumps. Just grab the pedal with your hand and pump it repeatedly in the top 1/2 of its travel.

There is supposed to be some play at the top of the pedal - an inch or two. You should not have your clutch begin to move as soon as you touch the pedal. If it was like this before the bleed and it's like this after the bleed, sounds like you did it right. Has it always had this free play? I'm thinking it has.

Yes, those were the instructions that I used. And yes I did fill the res up with fluid and pump the pedal. The pedal does have an inch or two of travel like you described so I guess this is normal. I just wasn't sure if the pedal was supposed to have any free play. So all is good, thanks for your help.
