Default Plugging off intake resonator chamber

Went back to the stock intake. I'm the kind of person who fiddles and tinkers, so I'm just curious about blocking off the intake resonator chamber (the small box to the right side of the main airbox). It's fed with an opening about 1x2".

Seems like I should just be able to plug that with something. What are people using? I don't want to cut it off or anything weird, just want to cover it.

People usually:

Tape over it.
Put a piece of plastic over it, then tape it.
Or stuff a rag in it, then tape it.

Hope that helped!

The resonator serves to reduce induction noise. Blocking it makes the stock box louder!

i didn't use a rag, since i don't want any fibers to get sucked into the intake. so i just used duct tape it's been holding fine for the last 7k miles.

but really, i can't tell a difference that it's been blocked off.

Regarding the resonator, I wonder if drilling holes in it would actually make the intake louder rather than quieter. Block the hole to the intake, but make hoes elsewhere.

The stock air box does a good job at keeping out heat, which robs horsepower.

I wouldn't sacrifice potential power for sound
