PLEASE HELP! Transmission Problems
I've been having the biggest problems with my transmission today. Everytime I switch into a gear it goes *CLUNK* really loud and one I let up the clutch it does an even louder *CLUNK*. The sound seems to be coming from under the car more towards the rear (hope it's not the differential) The car seems to shift pretty good with no grinds and the car seems to be launching fine. I don't abuse the car or shift radically, but this sound can be heard from far away. I really wish you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance.
I also put this in the general talk forum hope it not a problem

I don't believe a soft clunk when you put it in gear is a problem. When you sit at a light idling in neutral, then punch in the clutch and stuff it in gear, you may get a soft clunk as the spinning gears engage with the output shaft that's not moving. Getting one when taking off afterwards, though, is certainly a problem, possibly one in the differential- I'd definitely get that looked at.

sorry to bring back an old thread but i have this problem too and I just took it to AAMCO today for a transcan and they told me that they hear the noise from the transmission and that a bearing is gone and something might be wrong with the gears, they told me to do a rebuild but I dont know if this guy would be correct.
