Default Plastic Window Repair

I have a MY01 with the plastic rear window. The top itself is in very good shape but the rear window has has good amount of haze to it as well as a few creases. It's hard to capture very well in pictures but here's what it looks like:

I have read mixed things on how to fix this, if it's even possible. I've heard of the boiling water method which I'm hesitant about, so I may just try PlastX or something similar first and see if that does anything. Just wanted to get some input from those with first-hand experience with this issue. Thanks in advance!

I used a combination of plastix, meguiers headlight restorant, and meguiers headlight protectant. It looks practically new now. Just took hours of hard work -_-

Thanks for the input. Did you just use a microfiber and go to town? Heavy or light pressure on the window?

Look for a product called "Plexus". Use a micro fiber towel and polish by hand. It will clear the plastic and has plasticizers which restore the flexibility. Plastic degrades in UV light and becomes harder. Plexus will restore it. I used it for 10+ years before going glass when I replaced my top last year.

I use Plastix for any heavy scratches and Plexus for regular polishing. Unfortunately Plexus and other plastic polishes designed for cockpit maintenance have really gone up in price. My '00 rear window is still pretty clear.

x2 for Plastix. I also like the clay bar idea too. Too bad I have glass now or I would have tried it.

I used moderate pressure, nothing that would hurt the window though. Yeah, then just go to town in circular motions, just make sure to tape off around the window so you dont get any of the products on the top. Good luck!

Novus 1, 2, 3 plastic products work well. Heavy scratch remover, fine scratch remover, polish.
