Plastic Burnt on Exhaust and Partially melted to helmholtz pipe
Long story short, I somehow got an arizona green tea plastic wrapped up on my GReddy SE
I've tried using oven cleaner and a wire brush to get off the burnt parts on the pipe. I had very little luck. I also don't know how to deal with the semi melted plastic on the helmholtz pipe! That thing is CAKED on there. Any suggestions?

It will eventually burn off.

To remove it you will have to have the exhaust fairly hot. I would remove that section. remove what you can while it's cold. Then heat it up and try to remove it while soft with a pair of expendable heat resistant gloves. Once pliable it will rub off onto the gloves, the residue will burn off. To heat it up buy/borrow a small propane tank torch.

^At least the smell will go away.
Motorcyclists apparently like to use Easy-Off oven cleaner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiKvHZjPxgY

I guess you'll need to try Billman's resurfacing disk method.

I had the same thing happen to my header on my bike. My dad has a warehouse of chemicals so i grabbed a bottle of acetone, poured it onto a paper towel and wrapped it around the plastic covered spot. Poured some more on then waited a couple of minutes. Then I scraped it off with a razor blade.

You can buy acetone at Home Depot. Wear gloves and try not to breathe in too much of the fumes.
I think acetone (or even brake cleaner) would get a lot of it off, without having to remove exhaust. Whatever is left, abrade off using Billman suggestion.
