Default Piston sticking out of block? Thicker headgasket?

Hello again, So i'm currently attempting a "stroker" build. At this point I really don't care if it works or not, just trying to get it into one piece to atleast try it. I know companies make specific kits and parts for this build but that is not the point of this thread. Anyway, the rods I am using ended up leaving the pistons sticking up about 3mm out of the block at TDC. How well would using a 3mm head gasket to recover this work?

The pistons stick out of the cylinder from the factory(about 1/10" or 2.4mm). Have you measured your combustion clearance? How about valve to crown clearance? Neither intake nor exhaust valves are fully open with the cylinder at TDC, when they are open it's usually BTDC but you still have to account for clearance of the valves. Simply putting on a 3mm thicker head gasket isn't the best solution, you could be lowering compression and affecting the TCT. I suggest you do a little more research before you start slapping things together, it's best to have a plan.

The pistons sit above the height of the block? Or just the crowns?

Thanks!
