There is also the option of adding 3 additional valve stem holes to the spare tire and putting them in there. Space them out evenly so that in case there is ever a need to use the spare the balance isnt thrown off too much. This way you take up 0 additional space in the car and retain the use of the spare tire.

I like the spare tire idea, but I usually don't keep the spare tire or tools in my car. I also believe the PVC chamber would be best from a weight savings perspective.

I would think the pvc method would be more compact and just generally easier the a small tire.
Agreed, though the tire might be easier for someone who doesn't own a saw or know how to glue.

doesnt the spare tire have to be at 50psi or something higher than normal? if thats the case then the spare tire would be useless

I don't think the sensors care if the pressure is above normal, so I think it would be fine to put them in the spare at 50 PSI.

I chose the components that I did mainly because I didn't want to cut anything. If someone doesn't know how to glue PVC, then they probably won't know how to put them inside a tire.

Yikes - carring a "pipe bomb" around is bad luck if you get pulled over...

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I wanted to be able to unscrew the cap. I'll just have to rely on my debating skills ...

I don't think there are any "bulbs" that can be pulled out of the guage cluster. I am pretty sure everything is LED's on a PCB.

Putting 4 TPMS sensors in space saver spare isn't going to happen. The wheel isn't wide enough for the sensors. Seating the bead on a space saver is a big enough pain without having 4 TPMS sensors to deal with.
