I don't have any details on Aussie Immobi systems. (If it even has one) On a US spec car, the Red key will leave you stranded if you try to start the car with it.

Haha, no, sounds kinda james bondish like that though! I just don't understand how anyone would ever want to use it?? Like pre-knowing you car is going to get stolen or something? HAHA

It's only used for key programming, on type 1 immobilizer systems.

No, it actually removes all learned key codes. If you use it, you'll be taking the car to a dealer to have all the keys reprogrammed.

DON'T PUT IT IN THE IGNITION SWITCH.

I thougth it was for if your keys got stolen...you could disallow the stolen key from starting the car. I thought the red key would operate the car and "take over" as the master key.

Nope. the Red key cannot start the car at any time. It's only used for programming keys, not anytime else.

I think I've covered this enough.

If you have a car that uses a Red key, keep it someplace safe. Don't try to start the car with it, you'll wish you didn't.

When you need a key programmed the dealer may need your Red key. Take it from it special place and let the dealer have it. They will give it back.
