They look an awful lot like the head studs to me, with the nuts screwed on. Could be bolts tho - perhaps somebody who's taken theirs apart knows?

Are 38 and 39 tensioners for the chains to the left of them?

Very cool Ricepimp. Thanks for doing the work of numbering everything. Now we can really get down to identifying everything.

22 - lost motion assembly (believe that's what Honda calls them). These keep the center rocker following the big cam lobe until you get past VTEC. Basically a spring & plunger.

27 - head bolts

28 - cover for cylinder head air injection passage

30 - timing chain tensioner

31 - driven gear from camshaft primary drive (driven by chain from crank sprocket, which is #32)

31, driven gear, then drives the two scissors gears, 40, which are bolted to the cams

33 - oil pump drive chain

34 - primary cam drive chain (timing chain)

35 - oil pump chain tensioner

36 - oil pump chain guide

37 - crank shaft position wheel (for crank encoder in 15, chain cover)

38 - timing chain guide (moveable guide, or slack side guide)

39 - timing chain guide (fixed guide, or tension side guide)

41 & 42 - engine mount brackets?

Looks like #7 was skipped - piston oil squirters

A few items missing from the picture too. No retainers, valve spring keepers, cam cap bolts, etc.
