persistent clutch drag

persistent clutch drag
My S is suffering from clutch drag. Since I got the car 2 years ago, its never been right. It grabs right off the floor. Its difficult to shift. Sometimes it even shudders and wants to stall if I come to a stop in gear (or wants to creep if not on the brakes). Classic clutch drag symptoms.
The car had 75k miles on it when I got it, and PO said it had a new clutch. I can see where the idiots that worked on it didn't know what they were doing (found pieces of the knock sensor they broke and left sitting in engine compartment, they hacked up console trying to pry the shifter boot off, they broke the plastic shifter hold down, etc). So I suspect the issue is something they screwed up, but not sire what that could be.
I first tried just cleaning the old fluid, gravity bleed, and clutch rod adjustment. That helped, but it was still marginal, and the symptoms were still present. I followed the Billman procedure to gravity bleed and adjist pedal.
Then I replaced MC. Bled again. No improvement. Then replaced Slave cylinder, bled. No improvement. New Honda parts used. Then I adjusted clutch pedal to highest possible position (so maximum travel, max throw). No improvement.
What else is there? What else could it be? Like I said, I think the idiots that replaced the clutch screwed something up, but I can't figure out what.
Oh, and the car has absolutely horrible clutch buzz (its an '06 ap2, so they must have used a crappy aftermarket clutch). I've added over 35k miles to the car with this crappy clutch. Not slipping and throwout bearing still holding up.

Yeah, kinda sounding like the clutch is FUBAR. May need to remove tranny and inspect. You've seemed to rule-out just about everything, next to R&R...

You might have a broken pressure plate spring or disk damper spring. Probably need to drop the trans :'(

I think you may be right. Now suddenly today the symptoms are changing. Sometimes it makes a nasty squeel when clutch engages. Sometimes it drags very badly, sometimes its not so bad. Sometimes it makes a nasty grinding noise just driving down the road.
I'm thinking there is a spring loose bouncing around, finding its way into all sorts of places.
I think I'll just put it away early for winter, and new clutch, and ap1 flywheel, in spring.
