What you're better to do is look into a S/C system for the street or a Turbo System for the track. I'm anti-street racing, so I'm biased to personal safety and the lives of families driving down the same roads you're on. I'd strong suggest measuring your manhood at the track instead of on the street.
Since the stock motor can handle a good amount of boost, both will provide solid gains without much modification. This is probably best directed to the F/I section. If you're dragging kids on the street, best save for a new diff, ignore the marginal 5% gains you're seaking and learn to launch the car with wheel spin. Money not put into bolt-ons will go towards the diff you're going to need shortly.
Also keep in mind, 5%-10% gains are really hard to be had for reasonable money. If you're seriously considering modifying the car, sell it and buy an 06+. This has the option of getting the hondata system, to provide you with the best platform for tune and playing with engine options. It sounds like a pricy proposition, but instead of buying expensive piggy back systems you buy a car that for $700 has an open ECU platform for tuning. It's by far the best option if you're looking to modify for power. If you're worried about the 9k redline, you can boost the ap2 on hondata system to 8.5k. Both cars stock perform the same at the track.
That all said, if you're tracking the car, good aero, tires and suspension work will go further than 10hp.
