Default Passenger window wiring has gone Kanye on me

Dear S2k owner,

I went to put up my passenger window today but no love. Here is what I have tested so far:

1. Fuse is fine
2. Ran wire direct to motor and window works - Motor OK
3. Checked continuity across the switch and it all checks - Switch OK
4. Driver side window works properly
5. The NYG will beat the Cowboys this weekend

So somewhere along the line, the window isn't getting the power when it should. The window does drop when I put the top down but then I can't get it back up besides running leads to it.

Any guesses?

Love,
Skibum

Oh my fuggin god!

I have replaced the clutch, head gasket, suspension, turbo, sc, and pretty much every part but was fooled by the dumb window lock switch! LOL

I spent 1 hour trying to figure out WTF was wrong. Thx. My trouble shooting skills were pretty good but the manual said nothing about the power window switch.

On every other car, the window lock is defeated by the drivers window switch but not the s2k.

I have to say, normally when the owners skill level to troubleshoot an electical issue is on your level, we don't get to see the threads on it being the switch. So thanks for sharing.

Now it is a common thing to happen and to baffle the owner. It happens to everyone.

Wait a minute...

Mine is doing the same thing. But....when you put the top down, BOTH windows will go down. If you try to put the passenger window down from either driver's door or passenger's door it will not go up or down

WHY?

I had to ask this very same question a couple of years ago after installing speakers in my doors. I've never knowingly used that switch.
