Default Passenger power door lock went out (bad motor)

My brothers MY01's passenger door lock went out. The motor went bad. I was wondering is this hard to change out?
Should I go with OEM or aftermarket?
Thanks

First, before you go buying an actuator, you should confirm that it's really gone. It's inside the door panel near the front (hinge end of door). Remove the wiring harness and run power to it (but only momentarily) to see if it functions. You may only have a bad connection in the wiring. If not, then a new one may be required. Try to get one off a wrecked car if possible. You could get an aftermarket one if it exists, but this may be hard to find. Getting a generic door lock solenoid will requre quite a bit of modification. I wouldn't do it. The OEM (or OEM like) will fit without modification.
When the passenger side is unlocked, will it lock when you manually lock the driver side? How about the keyless lock and unlock? How about when you use the key?

Made sure that the switch that disables the window is off first?

He's talking about the door lock actuator, not the window motor.

i agree
only go with an oem one as its a perfect fit. ive seen motors easily last 10 years. guess you got a unlucky one.

Any extended warranty? Try that first.
