Ask the shop if the sensor has a srew in it, or a connetor? Also ask if it mounts with 4" or 8" fomr the top of the valve cover.

I would shot a pic, but My car is in Houston and I am in Dallas.

Do you have the sensor? Can you post a picture of what you have? Evne 1/2 of it and I can tell what it is.

what do you mean by 'mounts with 4" or 8" from the top of the valve cover'

Do you mean within 4" or 8" from the top of the valve cover?

skibum, you're awesome.

Rick: if this is indeed the right part, you accept paypal, right?

Here is a pic of the sensor I believe you are speaking about. You can see the part of the header for reference.

Here it is with the rubber cover removed. Part #8 has the pink stripe on it and part #12 is the brass screw in the end.

Thanks for the pic skibum. Thats not it. The one I'm talking about has an electric wire connected to it and is now hanging by that wire, and it is also located higher up on the engine.

That one does have a single wire. It comes off the sensor at 4 o'clock and goes out the bottom of the little rubber cover.

It's right near the top of the header, above the exhaust manifold, so I'd assume 4". It is NOT the one pictured in skibum's shot.

hey...rick....I have pictures that I took of where it is after driving for 45 min to get there. For conformation, it IS NOT THE SAME AS THE ONE PICTURED IN SKIBUMs PHOTO. I looked at the one skibum took a pic of and that unit is perfectly fine.
