A buddy of mine in HS parked in his Civic HB in his parents 3-car garage each night. The garage was about 6 ft above street level with a long gradual slope. He never used PB. One day he flew into the garage to get ready for a hot date and just quick jammed her in 1st thinking he was OK.
Well.... garage door was up and somehow Civic popped out (or never was in) of 1st and picked up some serious speed down that long gradual driveway. Amazingly it steered itself somewhat straight into the neighbor's 4"x4" mailbox post, shattering the big HB rear window and destroying the rear spoiler. Bumper was totalled too.
I only remember ths so well because he and I had to build and paint (Chicago Bears colors ) a brand new mailbox post for the neighbor.
My point: it's really a situational decision. I just put her in 1st when in my garage...my drive-way is 99.9% flat and door is shut most of the time. At work, PB is always on.
