Default P1546

Hmmmm, the first time I tried to post this it didn't show up. If it finally does then I apologize for the double post.

I got my first CEL today - I am no longer a virgin. It is steady state, no blinking.

Took the car to Autozone and they showed a P1546 code, but the had no clue what it was. All they knew was that it had something to do with emissions.

I checked the stickies and did a search but apparently I have a new code. I'm always breaking new ground by breaking a car in a new way.

Anyone have a clue what this code is?

There is no 1546 code that's listed in the Helm manual.
Could you possibly have had a dyslexic moment and it actually said P1456? In this case, it's a loose gas cap most likely.

Yeah...if its P1456 it has something to do with the gas cap. I noticed that you have a 2002 model year. If thats the case, it has been reported several times that for this model year, the fuel filler neck might be the problem. The fuel filler neck might be out of round and therefore causes the cap to not seat tightly. The fix for this is to replace the fuel filler neck.

This happened on my 2002 model year one as well.

Anything is possible. I'll try that, but I hadn't added gas for about 2 days.

Now how do I clear the code? I haven't done a search for that yet.

Thanx for the quick reply.

Dang, I'd have reset the light at the next autocross since I pull the back up fuse before starting.

That's too easy.

I checked the gas cap & tightened it some more so we'll see if the code comes back again.

Thanx everyone. I felt like nothing bad was wrong but there was this little voice that was worried it was going to self destruct in 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - ....

That voice is called my wife.
