I have the some what same problem is that I ACTUALLY replaced the gas cap and had it diagnosed by a mechanic and they could not find any leaks or problems. They visually inspected the cat and found nothing wrong with it. They happened to reset the ECU and it came back on a few days later. I made conclusion that it was the gas cap and bought a completely new gas cap and apparently it was an updated one. But it has been about 3 weeks to about a month since I replaced it and its still is one. I know that once you fix the gas cap it should make it go away but it didnt so I went to autozone and got it checked again and its the same P1457 code with the following on the receipt:
LOOSE FUEL CAP
VAPOR CANISTER SATURATED
FAILED VENT SOLENOID
FAILED PURGE SOLENOID
But here is the new issue im debating about is that when I fuel up I don't get that pressure "release" when you open the gas cap when its low. Im confussed so is there any suggestions to this damn problem???
