cool was his fuse blown or just bad , i think my fuse is not blown but im not entirely sure because i do see a very tiny hole in the middle of 60A fuse but its still connected. zoom in on the pic and you will see what im talking about

everydays a new adventure.

before i started my test today i used a blower and hit all the electric connections , especially towards the air pump area (under driver side headlight).

idled until i see engine gets warmed up , no pending code or CEL

started reving in neutral to around 3k, no CEL but P1399 pending fault

turn the car off , keys out of ignition and start the process again. but i revved it up much higher to 6K then i got the P1399 pending fault, and CEL on dashboard for following codes P0300, P0301, P0303 . (Surprised to see cylinder 3 in this list since it's the first time it's popped)

then i cleared the code and did more empty revs, back to just P1399 pending fault but no CEL

tried keys off ignition and start the car again, empty rev to 6~8K, i had to do that a few times then eventually threw P1399 pending fault, and CEL code P0300, P0301, P0302 on dashboard (this time cylinder #2 like previously)

well at least now i can reproduce the CEL now and nothing related to air pump anymore..................

When was the last time you checked valve clearance?

no idea when this was last done since i bought the car used and just recently picked this up, but i will be bringing to a shop in a few days to get a detail diagnostic going, hopefully they can find something or somewhere wet just dries off over the next few days

definitely didn't have any codes prior to the wash because i have scanned it right after my test drive and i've vteced it pretty hard.

err, so would it be safe to drive the car or just tow it to the shop to avoid potential damage? cant seem to find a straight answer when doing a search on these codes.

ok i think the issue may be fixed but im beyond confused how it got fixed

started my normal routine of testing today. before i started, i pulled coil pack from cylinder 1 and 2 and blow air at the spark plug well, coil pack connectors and etc.

idle until warm (3 bars) then started pulling code, nothing

started revving in neutral then pulled code , i see P1399 pending fault but no CEL on dashboard. i noticed something as well, when i rev , i see dashboard dims a little bit almost slight flicker and after i rev when rpm comes down back to idle, the car would shake/bog a little and this has been the case through out all testing so far. (so i guess it misfires when rpm comes down)

then i continue to rev in neutral to see if it would throw a CEL, this time CEL started flashing and i was like DAMN did i seriously screwed up something, then CEL finally turned solid and i pulled the code . the same 4 codes i have been getting P1399 pending fault , P0300, P0301, P0302.

I turned off the car, unplugged battery, i swapped coil pack from cylinder#1 to cylinder #3 just to see if the P0301 would jump to P0303

then i started revving in neutral again, i noticed car wouldnt shake or bog when rpm comes back down and i see 0 codes, not even a pending fault code

i continue to do this probably 3~5 times, keys off ignition then insert it back in and repeated 3~5 times of test cycle. no more codes

so right now im beyond confused because it seems to be fixed but i do not know why.

Edit:
went for a short 20 minutes drive, P1399 pending popped almost within first 2 minutes. no CEL yet. and it did not misfire for the entire drive since i did not get a CEL at all. bleh, hopefully the heat generated from driving is enough to evaporate where it may be wet

checked both the big fuse box by the battery and the small fuse box on driver side, both were dry

Its enough to make you shy away from detailing the engine bay.

lol after this incident yes. i have actually done it before on the s2000 and other cars without any issues , but the headache i have to go through this time will definitely make me think twice.

probably wont do a test today, i will be taking it to the shop tomorrow for some routine maintenance and a diagnostic , hopefully everything is fine and it was just something wet that caused the misfire and have dried off *knock on wood*

Me too. I wish the underlying cause of your troubles was more obvious.
Did you use high pressure water spray?
