Default P0141 02 bank 1 sensor 2

hello, recently i went to a track event, spun out & the call stalled. I started it up again fine but a check-engine light came on. I ran a code and it was a P0141 - 02 sensor heater (bank 1 sensor 2). I inspected the sensor and it looks normal, i took it out of the catalytic convertor to see if the tip is broken but it's not. I tried to clear the code but it wouldn't go away. Before i spend money and buy a new sensor, does anyone have any ideas what i should do first, how i can test if i have a bad sensor.

Have gotten the same code... The only other thing to check is the CAT. Check inside and see if the comb is loose, or anything rattling. Otherwise the sensor is probably bad. I haven't bothered to change mine as it doesn't harm the car. Code comes on every so often but more of the time it goes away and stays away.

I tried to reset the code but it goes back on right away. I chdecked the cat, it is still intact the comb still fine. It might be a bad sensor but its like $250 for a new one. I want to know if its possible to test to see if it's a bad sensor before I replace it.

Only way to test it is o find another owner without the code. swap their o2 in and reset... if code doesn't come back then you will know.

I had the same code, but the honeycomb in my cat slid around and broke the tip of the O2 sensor completely off. I got a berk hfc and a $40 denso O2 sensor from amazon which plugs right in and it's been code free for close to 1k miles so far.

I entered in my vehicle to verify if this part fits and it states it doesn't. Do you have another link that specified for s2000?

The one linked fit my car, which is an 03. Quick check of part numbers shows that it's a different # for 04-05 and another different # for 06+.

I'd look for one that's listed as fitting your model year car if it's cheap enough. Otherwise, there's always the generic ones that would need you to reuse the plug from the old O2 sensor and do the wiring yourself. There's a guide with pictures around here for the generic sensor with a part # that should fit.

Just to confirm. The one goes in the middle of the cat is an "downstream" sensor right. Before I order which is $160.
