So I got this code last night while driving. Before I got the code I ran the car through 1st and 2nd gears and than noticed after that it was really touchy on the gas (seemed to not take well to low level of throtle imputs and was real jerky miss fired under slow accel up to 5K, than went away) shortly after i turned the car off. an hour later started driving again it seem to stumble a little than cleared up and cel turned on. I have had problems with the o2 fix being clogged up before so i figured that was it. Today when i was driving home from work i ran through 2nd into 3rd and the touchyness returned shortly than went away. also the miss fires came back for a shirt time than evened out...

Thoughts? I had recently swapped the throttle cable for a new one. could the adjustment be off?

The TPS is bad. It is having a drop out of signal at points through the sweep to wide open throttle. Replace it.

To test you need a fast reading volt meter like a Fluke. Back probe the signal wire and ground. Slowly sweep from idle to WOT. Look for any drop outs. More than likely it needs to be replaced.

Replacing the throttle cable would not simulate this unless you severely under/over tightened the adjustment. Is idle RPM normal after the cable change? If so then you have it adjusted right its the sensor.

Thanks that fixed the problem. Luckly I have two of almost everything and I finally found time to swap the throttle bobbies.
