Ok so I just finished swapping my 03 motor and tranny into an 00 shell. But for some reason I'm getting the P0118 code and the cluster temp gauge is only reading one block/bar. Of course the obvious solution would be to change the sensor. But I've been told there is a sensor, and sender. Which one controls the dash readings? Forgive me for asking, I just haven't found any issues quite like mine. Thank you in advance.

Your thermostat is stuck open. Drive the car real hard at highway speeds and see if the gaugs moves up to 2&3 bars and then see if drops back down to one bar at lower city speeds. That would be sure sign the stat is stuck open.
