Yes change them all (ap2s on the intake side and stock ap1s on the exhaust side), but that kind of misshift is almost a gurantee of bent valves as well.

Has it ever happened in the history of the money shift that someone got away with something simple? I'm just curious?

If you really only hit 8800 rpms and shifting out of it fast enough you should be fine. Keep us posted!

I took that to mean that he started the mis-shif at 8800 rpms, which took him well over redline once the shift was completed.

Whether you got lucky enough to avoid valve damage will be revealed at engine start-up. But at 10,000 rpms your engine would have turned over 167 times for each second of the mis-shift event so there was plenty of opportunities to hit the valves. Here's hoping you didn't hit the valves, but let us know how it goes and good luck.

Hopefully the new retainers will be here buy the weekend. I wish I could post pics of the damage but unfortunately I only have an iPhone. The only real problem I see is the 4 f'd up intake retainers. And the engine ran as smooth as glass. I'm just in denial right now. LOL! I'll let y'all know as soon as I get them put in. Thanks for all the help!!!

I'm surprised the cam wasn't riding on the retainer on #1. I'll post pictures of the exhaust after work.
