might be a bad thermostat. When moving, it cools the rad so your car thinks the temp is low but as soon as you stop, the hot water from the engine comes back to the rad and it started to increase

Try bleeding the air out of the system through the coolant bleed valve and try not to open the radiator cap after all of the air is released. it will let more air in. also, are your fans coming on? maybe a relay is bad if not? bad thermostat symptoms are usually just being stuck either open or closed. Usually if they are closed then they will overheat no matter what...

let your car idle with the coolant cap off, fill up the tank, fill up the rad to the top, and squueze the rad house, let it run for a good 5-10 minutes. worked for me

it could be a number of thing but first thing i would check is the fan system

you can trigger both fan by running the a/c but don't be fool that just because both are running now(with the a/c) that you have a working fan system.

something you can do is park the car and have it idle or put a light load on it, watch the temp gauge and see if the fan will come on by itself. if not you might have a electronic problem with the sensor, wiring or fan itself.

worked for you but it's not the proper way to do it

there's two bleed valve in the system(one by the waterneck and one by the firewall)
