I did this twice trying to pass a spec miata in the same corner, 3-2 shift clutched, 3-2 shift clutched, caught it both times. I pulled the valve cover, check everything, that was about 20k miles ago. Damn spec miatas

You should still inspect your retainers. Even if you pushed your clutch in as soon as you realized what happened, you could have cracked them. There's a thread that was posted up a while ago about a guy that over-revved, and left it alone. He then decided to go turbo and put some AP2 retainers in, and came across several cracked retainers after pulling his VC. He had no symptoms.

Pull the vc and look around with a flashlight. that's all you really have to do.

Or you could listen to Billman and realize that since its an AP2, and he only missed one gear (and he went sideways a bit which means tires slipped instead of motor spinning), he is fine.

Also, this thread is like 1.5 years old, so this happened a while ago.

I was referring the gentleman that bumped this and owns a 2002 with 54k on the clock. Posted yesterday at 4:56pm. I quoted him in my response.

There will be no symptoms at all.

Broken retainers can go undetected for many thousands of miles, just before the rocker snaps the valve tip off and destroys the engine.
