over revved........
So this past weekend, I did a pull on my MY01 from 2nd to 3rd and getting ready to shift to 4th (from about 8500RPM), I misshifted to 2nd. I immediately clutched in and threw it out of 2nd and into 4th. The car seemed to have shown no signs of something bad. It starts up like normal. And I did a 2 hour drive back home the next morning, in which the car seemed to have drove and sound normal.
Is it even safe to be driving it, even though I overreved it? Just a little worried as symptoms of a messed up engine doesn't really show, as stated in other threads in regards to over revving the ap1's.
EDIT: This is my second over rev (Yes, please go on and flame me ). My first over rev occured about 3-4K miles ago. And I did not think it was such a serious problem. Little did I know, upon researching about over revs in S2000's after this past weekend's incident, I am quite scared. Hopefully the car is okay.

Think you'll be ok. I'd monitor oil usage.
BTW... where did you get that GIF of the girl playing guitar? Odd, capo on first fret... just curious.

Looking closer I guess she put that capo in front of the first fret = one whole step up. Which makes a little more sense. Barre chords and all that jazz. But, I digress...
Anyhow, good luck with your car. Bit of over-rev prolly did no permanent damage. May want to change the oil, for peace of mind --- more than anything else.

I would check the retainers right away, I did the some thing when I had my 01 and I cracked ALL the retainers on the intake side. I wouldn't risk dropping a valve.

Absolutely check your retainers.
There's tons of info out there, but here's a start.....
