This doesn't help much. I wish at times like this, I was a mind reader or have my crystal ball back from the shop. Please don't make us do "20 questions" just to answer yours.
What was the car's speed at the time you did this? Second gear is good for about 60 mph. The engine can survive an rpm of about 10,500 for a very short time.

For a very short time!
Mine saw around 10,200 - and is okay to this day. I had the cams removed and a thorough inspection done after the incident, and I visually inspect the retainers ~ every 5000 miles or so. My cams are out now because I have the car in long term storage (for a total of nearly 3 years - but yet another good time to really inspect the retainers).
There are several factors that can determine the ultimate limit of your motor before it starts eating itself. However, when in doubt ... have a professional take a good look at it. Lots of posts on this.

correct me if im wrong, but if your car is running fine now, i dont think you have much to worry about.

all overrev damage i've ever seen or heard of usually kill the motor right then and there, right?
WRONG!
The retainers can be distorted (dished and cracked) and the valves slowly slip out of their keepers until (at an undetermined later date/time/mileage) your motor is toast.

That's the problem. If you suspect an over-rev ... get a trusted Honda S2000 Tech to do a thorough inspection. Piece of mind.

Hmmm, you say you pulled in the clutch pretty quick once you realized what you did. It will be impossible to know just how hard the clutch grabbed and how far up the rev band you went. You didn't notice the tach, did you? Was it maxed out?
If you had an AP1 and you let the clutch out fully, you'd be right around that 10,500 rpm mark. With an AP2's gearing in the first 4 gears being a bit different (to your disadvantage in this scenario), you may have exceeded 10,500 rpm. At the very least, you should have those retainers inspected. You say the car is running fine, so a bent valve is less of an immediate concern. I suppose when you're in getting those retainers looked at, it wouldn't be that much more to do a compression and leak down test.

mechanical over rev also can spin or prematurely melt the rod bearing which may fail later

XViper is correct. Get the retainers checked, or take a look at them yourself. All you have to do is disconnect a few hoses and remove the rocker cover. If you can find the thread here on S2kI, there are pictures showing what to look for. If you have any mechanical inclination at all, this is something you can easily do yourself.
