The bigger valves are lighter.

Was the head milled to compensate for the loss of material when deshrouding? Know how much material was removed?

The valves also appear to have more dish/less material than stock which would further impace the CR.

Any particular reason you went with Manley stainless valves as opposed to others?

I received a reply, but I forgot to update this thread. He doesn't stock Titanium valves, but he can custom order them. He said they run over $1250/set... I'm not sure if that's his cost or if that's what they sell for. I'd expect them to retail closer to $1500/set of 16.

I went over to Alaniz's today. The example of a titanium valve he showed me weighed 3/4 of a smaller stainless steel valve. The valve seat will have to be a beryllium alloy sort of thing.

Reviving this since I have now had time to look over the stock valvetrain at length.

I am concerned with the "dish" of the new valves. I'm going to talk to Manley and see if they have any stats on them. The dish is MUCH larger than stock. I would think that this would have a fairly large impact on CC volume, expecially if coupled with deshrouding and the like.

I'll report back on what I find out. Does anyone know of a .5mm oversized valve seat available other than Alaniz's?

The compression will go down a measurable amount. Alaniz suggests increasing the material in the head to compensate.
