Optima battery and CEL?
So after 6 long years of life, the OEM battery died yesterday. I put in my new Optima group 51 yellow top this morning and everything was fine for the few drives early in the day. When I came home from work I noticed my CEL was illumiated, not flashing, but solid. I will update with the code once I get it pulled tomorrow, but could the battery have caused it in any way? I have 58,000 miles and it has never thrown a CEL, and I don't think it is coinsodence that it would come on the same day I got my new battery.
Mods are in sig, and YES I do have sprak plug anti foulers on my O2 sensor and havn't ever had a CEL for the 7,000 miles I've had it.
Thanks,
Sam

Stopped in at auto zone today and they pulled the code. Unfortunately I was in a hurry and it took them 45 minutes to have someone free to pull it so I didn't get the code #, just the problem. They said it was a secondary air system failure (does this sound familiar to anyone)? or something along those lines. They said probably a fuse or relay somewhere. I checked all my fuses (in all 3 fuse boxes) with a fuse tester and they were all ok. I will go get the actual code tomorrow.
Any thoughts or ideas?

1. It could be the vacuum lines for the 2ndary air injection system. If it's this, follow this thread step by step to see if everything is in order. One of you lines may have been disconnected or cracked or on backwards.

You may or may not have a CAI, but the principle is the same.
2. You could have a bad air pump. Try #1 first.

Got it. Looked around under the hood, the valve was off of the CAI and hanging down near the belt. I'm very lucky more damage wasn't done! (didn't use a pressure or crush washer when installing it to the CAI) The line from the cannister to the valve is missing, and the nipple on the cannister is broken. Any idea of a part # on the cannister? Line must have got caught in the belt and torn out.
Thanks, that thread helped.

You can click on the numbers in that picture to see what the part is called and how much it is.
