what about cutting the nut off, unflaring the rigid brake line and install a new nut and reflare it so it stays on like normal?
where can i buy one of those nuts and is there a flare tool or something else i could use?

i believe it's a US type flare where it's female-like, correct me if i'm wrong.
i guess if i cut off a flare, it'd only be no more than a quarter of an inch. that shouldn't effect anything too much.
now where would i get a new nut??

That nut looks impossible...maybe just cut it off and get a replacement is the best way to go...
