Okay, so my passenger side HID bulb is out.... When I get home tonight, based on my research here, I'm going to swap the bulbs to ensure that I don't have a ballast issue.
My S2k is an '02 with close to 130k miles. I routinely use my HID's as daytime running lights, so they've been used A LOT.
My question...
The stock D2S bulb is $195, and can be found at Majestic for $138....
I'm thinking that I maybe should be replacing both bulbs at the same time to ensure even brightness/color....
This would cost me around $300, though...
Is going with an aftermarket 4300k D2S bulb a possible option?
Something like this:
EBAY
Amazon
Anyone know the difference between:
Philips D2S 85122+
and
Philips D2S 85122
Thanks in advance,
Matt

if yoiu are going to keep the car replacement of both is a good idea, the older one will surely fair soon given the equal use and you gainnothing by waiting till that happens but time....and if you keep the car a while time will run out while you need that light to work!

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe Philips D2S 85122+ are color shifted and Philips D2S 85122 are not. The 85122+ will maintain its color a lot longer than its 85122 counterpart. When replacing HID bulbs, you should always replace them at the same time to assure that they have the same lumens remaining. As far as buying bulbs, I would probably purchase slightly used bulbs from the folks at www.hidplanet.com/forum. A used pair will generally be in the ball park of $50-$75. Good luck
