Default one brake rotor hotter than others

well today on the way to work I decided to check my brakes out since I just installed some new rear calipers....well i put my hand close to each of my rotors to see how much they were heating up and i noticed that my front drivers side rotor is pretty hot and then when i checked my front passenger rotor its COLD...like i didnt even drive at all....so im wondering what the hells going on...is this a problem? is it common? It really caught me off guard. Any advice/input ? thanks in advance guys...

The calipers are probably sticking, the piston that comes out is protected by a rubber sleeve, keeps moister/dirt etc out..

that rips over time, then rust and pits from on the piston, it becomes a sticky situation. sah bang

I would take the wheel off, take off the caliper and check it out. Rebuild kits are a pita, now is a good time to source some acrua front calipers with some nifty floating rotors.

so the caliper might be stuck in and not be pressing on the rotor at all? thanks for the advice..

the caliper are stuck out. and the pads are always rubbing on the rotor..
thats how the heat is created.

ooo ok...i thought that the brake thats cooler was the one that was stuck lol...i thought that it wasnt even extending out to make the pads grab the rotor and thats why it was so cold...

if thats the case you should feel a pull to one side while breaking.

its possible he doesnt notice it. BEfore you go through a lot of work, try bleeding both front calipers. This MIGHT help you. It fixed my pulling-on-braking problem. I think some fluid leaked out when I let it sit for a while.

I was saying it will pull to one side if only on front caliper was breaking. (which was something you thought it was happening)

in this case both calipers are breaking but one just wont retract back, so you shouldn't feel any pulling.
