Default OMFG the clutch

got an '09 S2k with 3800 miles. the clutch slip in this car is ridiculous when shifting in spirited driving at redline. i often get a good slip going into 3rd even after i wait a blip of a second after releasing the clutch before hammering the gas. is the clutch system in this car designed to slip? i am thinking i should get rid of the CDV right away, as it is nearly impossible to drive hard with a delay in the clutch system. does the clutch not grab well from the factory? i'm just not happy with it. been driving a stick for 25 years, and this is the first time i've just had something that seems wrong from the get go. any solutions after 10 years that make this problem go away? seems no cdv is the first best thing to do ... suggestions? thanks!!

Your experiencing the CDV. It purposely slips the clutch to take away some stress off the tranny and differential. The CDV can be removed, plenty of people have done it.

You are not experiencing the CDV.

You are experiencing the 22lb flywheel and its ability to hold the RPM high.

The CDV is not there to protect the car. It is there to allow the flywheel the time it needs to decelerate, and removing the CDV will make your condition worse.

All you need to do is adjust your shift/throttle/clutch timing and you will be fine.


Ask anyone who has driven both cars.

well, i get slipping as well even after a full release off the clutch and waiting a fraction of a sec and hammering the throttle. the car really is not as fun to drive as it could or should be. maybe someone local can show me how to drive?? or maybe a how o or video? as you can see, within 2 replies i got 2 different responses. i'd love a fix ... hence my post here. i appreciate the replies! but, what do i do??

This is true...
so i have to learn a new way of driving a manual transmission that is different than the 12 that i have driven before? ok, i'm game. what do i do???

oh, what is a "money shift" ?? read that a couple of times while doing a search. never heard of it.

not snatching a gear. just proper driving after 25 years of driving a stick, racing schools, track days, auto x and more. so shut your unhelpful pie hole.
