I have driven three S2000's, all AP1's. Mine has always had a Fidanza 7.5 lb flywheel.. my buddy's had a 12 lb (12 or 13) & it was a noticeable difference between the two.. then a couple weeks ago I test drove an 03 with low mileage that had a stock flywheel (AP1 is what like 18 iirc?) & to me the difference was kinda like running on land vs trying to run through the shallow section of a swimming pool hah. ok maybe not quite that extreme, but it definitely wasn't a subtle difference. While shifting anywhere near redline, the heavier the flywheel, the less responsive it felt while shifting, a little more slipping..
just my 2 cents. Haven't driven an AP2 before so I can't say much about the CDV, but general consensus is that if you notice it slipping, give an AP1 Slave a try, otherwise leave it there for your diff's longevity.

CDV doesn't fix the issue completely.. ^^

The whole clutch (flywheel/pressure plate) assembly is flawed from factory..
