If you want the sound, just take the top off your stock airbox. It's about the same as you get with most intakes.

If you're looking for sound, you'd be better off buying an exhaust than an intake. A CAI can suck water into the engine and hydrolock it. An exhaust, like an intake, won't do much for power gain, but it has no potential to screw your car up and at least you'll drop a substantial amount of weight from the car.
