Ok to skidpad with cold air intake?
Hello folks
I have an aem cold air intake and the filter sits on the passenger side front bumper.
I am thinking about doing a skidpad with the s2k and wondering if I should avoid this. I have read a lotta threads on here about hydro locking with these cold air intakes, so i'm a little worried.

for added protection, you may want to install a shield to keep rain from dripping from the top side.
see this thread for excellent photos.

I still don't understand why you'd want to risk it?

I consider AEM style intakes time bombs but it's your car. FYI, this just happened, another in a long list if stories I've seen over the years.

That said, a skid pad is just like driving in the rain, which I'm sure you already do. Just don't go through any deep puddles.

^ That's a scary thread.
I have an Injen CAI and I garage the car and never drive the car in the rain. The CAI results in more worry than good.
I'm considering replacing mine with a short ram intake.
