The oil cap should say 10w30 This is not the only weight that can be used, but it's the choice of most owners, including myself, for year round use and hard driving.

Your place is hot all year, if you like to use conventional oil then Havoline GF4 10W30 is one of the best. If you like to use synthetic, then Pennzoil Platinum 5W40 is one of the best and it costs a little less than Mobil 1.

With every oil change I also replace the oil filter. By doing this, I need ~5.5 quarts to fill it up. I'm not sure what amount you'd use if you're not changing the filter.

manual states 4.7 w/o a filter, 5.2 with a filter. After a long drain, 5.2 with a filter change fills my S2k up right to the top X. Some people need to put in more though to get to the top (yup its strange that way). Definitely buy 6 qts. fill up 5, or slightly over 5, run through the proper check routine (outlined in the FAQ -> OIL Change), and top off if necessary.

S2000's do burn some oil between changes, due to the VTEC actuation and hard right hand turns (oil goes straight up the PCV valve) so get a couple of extra quarts and check your oil level every day and top off when needed.

Keep in mind, this is NOT like any other Honda engine. This one you CAN'T run it out of oil and it'll keep running. Honda engines are strong, no doubt. But this is a high revving sportscar engine and should be treated with more care than a Civic or Accord engine.
