Default oil spilled on headers.how lONG FOR SMOKE TO STOP

i changed my oil and next thing i know my car was smoking, all the oil ran out because i left the old gasket from the filter and put the new filter on. i redid the oil change. but when i drove there was smoke coming out from where the headers are. how long do u think i will drive before it will stop smoking? thanks guys

depends on how much oil you spilled all over the place and it also depends if you redid the oil change correctly.

I spilt some oil on the valve cover while filling it up, and it gave me that nasty smell + some smoke for like an hour.
Yours would definitely take longer to go away.

Jyeung528 - Look in the Under the Hood Forum. Under the DIY section on DYI's and Maintenance and you will find your answer
