oil smell on start up?
06 s2000 at 100,500miles. Recently ive noticed an oil smell when I drive the first few miles after starting up the car (after it sits overnight). I usually let the car warm up about 3-4 bars before driving (1-3 minutes). After the car gets to operating temp I don't smell it anymore.
Using an hks exhaust with test pipe so I know the "cat-less smell" and this is a strong oil smell.
I check my oil regularly and I change every 5000 miles with amsoil signature 10w30 I've never had to top off the entire time I've owned the car. Any ideas where to start to see if this could be the beginning of something more serious?
I've done all maintenance including valve adjustment at 90k miles. The only thing I have left to do is a coolant flush. I have also pulled the spark plugs and they aren't fouled at all, they're also only 10k miles old.
Thanks in advance.

Could just be some valve seals starting to weep. Enough to leak into the combustion chamber over night so it burns off at first start up, but not enough leakage to notice wile driving or drop on the dipstick. I wouldn't worry much about it if your plugs look good and your not seeing any real usage. I burn through one x on the dipstick after approx 1500 miles with my 45k mile F22, which is great compared to most F20's. Your doing just fine. Its possible you may have some premature valve seal wear though do to overheating tight valves. DBW specific models are known to need early adjustment from factory after about 20k miles per Billmans findings. Waiting 90k miles to do may have contributed, if you do indeed have a valve seal issue starting. 100k isn't real low miles anyway.
To help verify, in morning at first start up, start car and quickly get out and look at tailpipes to see if you notice a puff of blue smoke. It may be very minimal, so hard to detect, or could be more severe. based on what you said, id say its on the min side.

No signs of smoke as directed to check. I know the valves in this particular engine were extremely tight on the exhaust side. I'll be re checking them at 110k but for now I'll just continue to monitor oil level and check for smoking on start up

I had a little exhaust smell on cold starts (2007 US model). FWIW...when I replaced the front air/fuel ratio sensor (front O2 sensor position), that smell went away.
