i'd like to see the results. thanks for the time and effort.
i'm pretty sure i have the updated pump as my '03 was on the ship and purchased in october 03 (last month of 03's)

There is no difference between the AP1 and AP2 oil pumps. I bought a new AP2 pump, took it apart and compared it to my 2002 pump. No difference in anything.

It could be the relief valve spring.
Hard to see any difference, hard to measure.

took it apart and compared it to my 2002 pump. No difference in anything.
