Default Oil Problem

I haven't checked my oil in a long time and decided to check on it today. I am shcoked to see that the oil went down to only 2 XX's on the dipstick. I dont know what could be the problem but here are some things I think may be the factor to this:

- I changed my oil at 3000 miles (about 4 months ago) when the owners manual says to change it at 3750 miles or so. (I now have 3965 miles on the car)
- I used Castrol (non-synthetic) 10W-30 oil
- I also changed teh oil filter with an OEM PCX filter
- I filled the oil past the full mark but i thought it would even out because of the filter also.

its not even 1000 miles and the oil is really low I am really scared I messed something up with the car. what can i do to fix it? The oil is still greenish/yellow am i just thinking crazy? AP2's seem to burn less oil also so i am very scared.

Any help is very appreciated. Thank you

Try some better synthetic oil like Motul or Redline, it might help.

^^ I was about to use synthetic Redline on my first oil change but xviper said that Castrol 10W-30 would be the same or even better than honda oil, where then i decided to not put in synthetic until i hit 10,000 miles.

thanks for the input i will consider a synthetic next oil change

You were less than a quart down. That could be considered normal for 3k miles of moderate to spirited driving.

Why would changing it at 3k cause you to consume more oil that if you were to have changed it at 3,750 miles
